pounding down the road, twice, without stopping

having left behind a mess, of sorts, in the kitchen

So here I sit watching the waves

breaking pounding in Me

Succulent Love

the Love between Us

is a Pure and Gentle thing

i Fear you Misunderstand its Nature

its Importance

what it needs to Grow and to Thrive.

i Fear I can’t make You See these things

in Time.

the Love between Us

is a Hardy Succulent

but as it turns out,

even Succulents need Water once a week

and the Leaves, though Juicy

are Fragile.

de well

the law decided of itself to rule
by happenstance or you decide
as we bring thee first to school
to anticipate is to ride
by foment or a phoney rain
time spent double quick
you could look back in vain
the good perhaps making you sick
justice coy voyager lands
the thimble of devotion spun
laughs and shakes hands
though everyone won
to lose to tip the scales
though that never fails

“Inner Fire” Juried Art Show

Murdoch and I participated in our first Juried Art Show at our local art gallery,  MAC (Mission Arts Council). I had three paintings accepted and Murdoch had two. Murdoch was given an Honourable Mention as one of the best Student Artists for his painting “Forested Ocean”.  Although I didn’t win any awards, I am honoured and excited about having my paintings in a show like this. Our art will be hanging in the gallery from May 2 – 19. This particular event is of great importance for me as it is all part of building confidence and believing in myself as an Artist.

Thanks to everyone who has viewed and commented on my paintings as it has encouraged me to get to this place where I feel really confident as an Artist. As you can see in the pictures, I think it has been good for Murdoch too.

I have since put in an application for an exhibit called “A Bond of Nature and Art” – “An exhibit by Mother and Son”.  I will keep you posted on this one…

Minority Government

You act like
It’s not your fault
Hoggin’ the mic
And the single malt

I know what you want
You’ve made that clear
They looked so gaunt
Eyes filled with fear

I wasn’t born like this
Now I’ve so much owin’
I took a risk
Like Leonard Cohen

The rising sun 1
The depraved fun
Is comin’ home to roost
You think you’re done
And, of course, you’ve won
Enemies now securely noosed

Pistol shots ring out
In a barroom night 2
Demons sing, demons shout
Some black, others white

The morning fog
Is finally lifting
A warning, a dog
Transport, shifting

Disempowerment
Disenfranchised
Minority government
Ill-fitting, yeah – poorly sized

FIRE SALE

a fire sale – I must resort to a fire sale

for My Mother's House on McNutt Island

It's been in My Possession as Executor of The Hyde Estate

since She died nineteen years ago

                        I still own it

I own It's apple trees, It's meadows, It's Fish House by the cove

                        It has to go --

It can go for anything I can get for It

for I have put nothing into It

                        except memories

                        & They come free

from the shakespear

(toronto park) the first banding le premier bagage high park (duck ponds)

i must be candid here
to me true break of day
however far or near
spiritual or fay
is glorious
the living is great
however may clouds notorious
summon some fate
the day has been good
night agone will come again
pathways through the wood
rain now and then
and good to dream
brighter than moonbeam
